Thai PM Sacked Over Shady Cabinet Pick.

Prime Minister Removed by Court RulingThailand's Constitutional Court has dismissed Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin from his position due to a controversial cabinet appointment. 

Srettha, who has served as Prime Minister for less than a year, became the third leader in 16 years to be removed by the same court. 

The court found that Srettha violated the "rules on ethics" by appointing a former lawyer with a criminal record to his cabinet. This ruling marks another significant moment in Thailand's turbulent political landscape.

Ethics Violation and Controversial AppointmentThe court's decision centers on Srettha’s appointment of Pichit Chuenban, a former lawyer who had previously been jailed for attempted bribery. 

Although Pichit resigned just 19 days after his appointment, the court determined that Srettha's actions displayed "defiant behavior" and breached ethical standards expected from a leader. 

The ruling was decisive, with five out of nine judges agreeing that Srettha had indeed violated the constitution.

Srettha's Reaction to the RulingFollowing the court's decision, Srettha expressed disappointment but did not contest the ruling, stating, "I’m confident in my honesty … I feel sorry, but I’m not saying I disagree with the ruling." The ruling is final and cannot be appealed, effectively ending Srettha's brief tenure as Prime Minister.Political Implications and Future
